Every year members of the Granville community show appreciation to veterans that have or currently serve in our county and country. There are activities that will honor, celebrate and enlighten you about the service of armed services. Don't miss a chance to participate in these events in October & November:

On Friday, November 11th, the Ernest F. Hart Post #90 will host a Veterans Day Ceremony. This will take place at the American Legion Post located at 914 Williamsboro Street in Oxford. Light refreshments will be provided before the program begins at 11:00 am. The speaker for the event will be Tuan Phan who was a member of the South Vietnamese Armed Forces during the Viet Nam war. Following the conflict, Tuan was able to escape by helicopter and came to the United States as a refugee. He has become a U.S. citizen, built a life for himself, and reunited his family here. He has written a book, titled "You Must Live", that tells of his trials and journey. We invite everyone to attend and hear Tuan Phan share his story and help us remember all veterans who have served our country.
The Town of Butner will have a Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11th at 11:00am.
