In November a number of non-profit organizations host events, benefits and fundraisers that benefit the local food pantry and other community organizations during this Thanksgiving season. So, you can enjoy good food, drink, entertainment and give back to our community all at the same time.
Annual Thanksgiving Breakfast is on November 23rd at 7:30 AM. This event will take place at the Oxford Baptist Church and is sponsored by: BRIDGESTONE COMMERCIAL SOLUTIONS and Granville Chamber of Commerce. The speaker will be Oscar Dantzler - Recipent of Duke University's University Award. Custodian and 'unofficial' tour guide for Duke Chapel. A Southern buffet breakfast will precede the program. Oxford United Methodist Church located on 105 W McClanahan Street in downtown Oxford will host their 12th Annual Turkey Trot 2016. This is a 2 mile Fun Walk/Run on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th. Come out for a time of fitness, fellowship, fun and food that will benefit the local food bank (ACIM). The entry fee is two cans of food or a cash donation in any amount to ACIM. Participants under age 18 should bring a parent to sign a permission form. The route is a simple out and back along College Street to the Masonic Home for Children.
