Open 7-days a week from dawn til dusk, the GAP offers endless opportunities for recreational activities. Situated on over 88 acres of rural farmland, the park offers plenty of space for everyone to enjoy a bit of the fresh country air. The GAP features over 3 miles of walking trails nestled throughout the pines, 4 tournament caliber baseball & softball fields, 2 full and 1 half adult regulation soccer fields, a splash park and children’s playground. The park also features meeting space, a large event shelter with retractable basketball goals and a gorgeous outdoor amphitheater for outdoor entertainment. Enjoy the convenience of the GAP’s easy access located just off I-85 in central North Carolina.

Operated by the US Army Corp of Engineers, Grassy Creek is a great place to put the boat in for a day on Kerr Lake. You can also enjoy a swim at the public beach access of enjoy wildlife from one of the large picnic shelters. The park also provides clean restrooms for your convenience.

Wilton Slopes is a great place to park and hop on the Tar River with your kayak or canoe. This is the starting point for the Tar River Paddle Trail, spanning down into Franklin and Nash Counties to the coast. Wilton Slopes also offers hiking trails and picnic shelter with gravel lot for safe parking.
