Located in downtown Butner, Gazebo Park offers a tranquil place to enjoy a picnic or your next event. Gazebo Park offers playground equipment for children as well as a tribute with its Memorial Statue to remember the men and women that have served in our countries military that may have trained at the original Camp Butner.

Grassy CreekGrassy Creek Recreation Area at Kerr Lake

Operated by the US Army Corp of Engineers, Grassy Creek is a great place to put the boat in for a day on Kerr Lake. You can also enjoy a swim at the public beach access of enjoy wildlife from one of the large picnic shelters. The park also provides clean restrooms for your convenience.

Open to the public year round, daylight to dark, Lake Devin offers fishing, 2.5 miles of tranquil walking trails, kayaking, dock and boat ramp. Lake Devin is the perfect place for a family outing or relaxing afternoon. Call for information on fishing permit.

Lake Holt offers great fishing opportunities, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boating. Stop by the marina snack shop for a bite to eat at the grill or grab you permit to launch your boat from the marina for the day. Not into fishing? Don’t worry there is a lake side deck with colorful rocking chairs calling your name. Looking for a place to hold your event? Call about reserved our large picnic shelter! Make sure not to miss the Annual 4th of July Fireworks held over beautiful Lake Holt and its surround farmland. 

Lake Rogers Lake Rogers Park

Covering over 175 acres just northwest of downtown Creedmoor, Lake Rogers offers several picnic shelters, a playground area, boat rentals and light concessions for park goers. If you are into fishing, you can launch your boat rental or fish from the pier. Kids and families will enjoy a stroll in the paddle boat around the lake!

Are you an avid archery hunter? We have just the place for you, with over 750 acres of untouched natural woods abutting the Butner Falls Lake Game Land. Contact the Town of Butner or NC Wildlife Game Lands program for permit information.

Wilton Slopes is a great place to park and hop on the Tar River with your kayak or canoe. This is the starting point for the Tar River Paddle Trail, spanning down into Franklin and Nash Counties to the coast. Wilton Slopes also offers hiking trails and picnic shelter with gravel lot for safe parking.
