The Creedmoor Annual Christmas Tree lighting is a fun and festive event for all, as it marks the beginning of the Christmas Holiday Season! Each year on the first Friday of December, residents and visitors from across the City gather for the Tree Lighting at in Downtown Creedmoor at the corner of Main and Church St. The tree is illuminated by hundreds of lights and bring joy to the crowd attending when the lights are turned on.
Mayor Darryl Moss usually reads “The Night Before Christmas” to the crowd as part of the ceremony. Students and choirs from surrounding schools sing Christmas carols and Santa makes an appearance to begin preparing his list for Christmas and to take pictures with the children. The Christmas Tree Lighting is a free event and all residents are invited to attend.
