Granville Loves Music...


Granville is a great place for music lovers of all kinds & the Creedmoor Music Festival is one of our major events.  And, below are other music events in the area.

Promising a day full of fun for all ages, the 26th Annual Creedmoor Music Festival kicks off on Main Street Saturday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m.

Eight talented bands featuring bluegrass, blues, country, and classic rock will take to two stages following the traditional opening by the South Granville High School Marching Band. The Sanderford stage lineup includes bluegrass artists Jimmy Lovelace at 9 a.m., followed by GrassStreet (10:30 am), Cumberland County Line (12:30 pm), and The Still Shakers (2:00 pm). The Bull City Blues Band (9:30 am), LowderStill (11:00 am), Norlina (12:30 pm), and Crossoverdrive (2:30 pm) will perform on the Southern States stage.

Elementary school choirs—Terra Tunes, Mustang Melodies, and the Cardinal Choir—and a performance by Hawley Middle School students are scheduled at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. WRAL morning news anchor Renee Chou is this year’s special guest emcee.

 cmf 2Complementing more than 100 craft, food, and other vendors lining Main Street between Lyon and Park streets, TK’s 11th Annual Classic Car Show will anchor the south end of the festival, with a display of all years and models of cars, trucks, bikes, buggies, customs, and rat rods.

Starting at noon, a drawing will be held for a fabulous $750 grand prize package sponsored by DPAC and Durham Aloft Hotel. Dickerson’s Service Center will also give a car to a family in need in their “Driving for the Community” contest. Masonic Homecoming Festival will be on October 13th & 14th.  This celebration of North Carolina’s first Home for children honors those who have lived here and those who have made it possible – our Masons.  Spend Friday evening at MHCO’s Yard Party featuring music from Tim Cifers. Join us again on Saturday to enjoy the state’s best Shrine parade, dance to the music of Jim Quick & Coastline, and enjoy delicious BBQ and chicken on campus, courtesy of our cooking teams or participate as your own BBQ team.   For more information, log onto
