Before "The Big Guy" heads to the North Pole, he makes a couple of stops in Granville to shop, play and enjoy the holiday season. Here's a list of where you and your family can go to see him and all the wonderful activities that make Granville a great place to visit during the holidays:

Downtown Oxford will host Lighting of the Greens & Annual Christmas Parade on Friday, December 1st. The Lighting of the Greens activities will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Main Street. The City of Creedmoor has a Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 1st at 7:00 pm. Residents and visitors gather for the tree lighting in front of City Hall at 111 Masonic Street in downtown Creedmoor. The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm with performances by local elementary and middle school choirs and instrumentalists, a reading of “The Christmas Story”, and a visit from Santa Claus himself! Creedmoor's Annual Christmas Parade on December 2nd at 11:00 am. The parade features a very special Grand Marshal, holiday floats, marching bands, and of course, Santa himself! The Town of Butner & Butner Community Association kicks off the holiday season with Christmas in the Park on December 1st at 5:30pm. Activities include: Christmas music, lighting of the tree, reading of “Twas the Night before Christmas” story by the Mayor & pictures with Santa, sponsored by the town.
The Annual Christmas Parade is on December 2nd at 2:00pm which features floats and parade entertainment coordinated by South Granville Exchange Club. For more information, log onto http://www.butnernc.org/events.

Last, but not least, the unique Grassy Creek Christmas Parade is on December 9th at 2:00pm. This community is located in northern part of Granville County and is guaranteed to be a special event for the whole family.
Vino Oasi will hosting Cocoa with Santa on Sunday, December 3rd from 3 pm to 6pm. Bring the whole family to see Santa arrive on a firetruck! Photos with Santa by Xpressions by Alicia. There will be cookies, snacks, craft activities for the kids. Also, there will be a Ugly Sweater Contest for Dudes Only and a raffle to win the Vino Christmas Tree (no decor included).
