Granville is Hoppin' with Local Artists, Great Music and Beautiful Venues to Visit in April

merlotThe latest trend among adults has arrived in Creedmoor with "Merlot & Van Gogh" on April 27th.  Acclaimed local artist Alma Burke instructs two-hour step-by-step painting classes where participants bring, and enjoy, their favorite bottle of wine!  This event will take place at The Rack located on 207 N Main Street in Creedmoor.  The class is for adults 21 & older and there is a registration that must be paid prior to class.  Wine is not provided, but participants may bring their own wine to class.  For more information, log onto www.cityofcreedmoor.org CLICK HERE for the flyer.


SATURDAY, APRIL 28TH FROM 4 PM TO 11 PM.  This year's beneficiary is Families Living Violence Free  who is dedicated to empowering Granville County families to live safe, non-violent lives.  Featured bands for the day include (in this order):  TIM CIFERS BAND, WHO SHOT JOHN and LOVE TRIBE. Mike Brooks from 98.3 is back as the emcee, food vendors and some special family-friendly "surprises" throughout the day! Join Vino Oasi for their monthly Wine Down Wednesday on May 16th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Stop by with your friends on the way home from work to decompress, see the venue and relax! Join Ferdinand and his band of misfits as they embark on the ultimate adventure, it's a MOVIE NIGHT you will not want to miss!

The movie will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. So, you’ll want to be certain to arrive in time to grab a good spot on the lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite comfortable chair or pad and a blanket.

girlsThe Family YMCA will host Girls on the Run on May 5th at 9 am in downtown Oxford.  Help celebrate our End of Spring Season of Girls on the Run, an event for the entire family. You can participate as a runner/walker to challenge yourself or encourage someone else as a running buddy. You can volunteer at a specific station to make this event fun and safe for all. day of playCreedmoor Parks & Recreation Committee will host National Day of Play on Saturday, May 19th from 12 pm to 5 pm at the Creedmoor gymnasium and ballfield, located on 108 Wilton Avenue.  This year's carnival-themed event is planned to be bigger and better than ever - including live entertainment, DJ-provided music with lots of interaction, games, prizes and face painting.  Come and enjoy hot dogs, beverages, son-cones and more.  All activites, food and veverages are free of charge while they last.  For more information visit cityofcreedmoor.org/ndp

The Granville County Library System will sponsor several programs in the month of April:
